“A Big Thank-You”
While I am not one to ever say
goodbye, I do want to thank each and every one of you for allowing me the
chance to teach your children! I can
honestly say that even though it has been over 30 years, students remain the
same. Your children have always been
there eager and ready to learn something about music; beginning in the 6th
grade to where they are today and that comes from you.
Teaching band from 6th
grade up has always given me the opportunity to see them grow from very shy
beginners up to young adults. Usually, if I see them later in life I will at
least remember their first name and the instrument they played.
I’ve always told your children that
I don’t have a job because I enjoy it too much, and that is still the
case. Every day is a new challenge and
never boring. I know that will continue
on my next journey!
This band program cannot function if
it were not for the parents behind the kids.
Whether it is selling fundraiser items, loading buses, or repairing
equipment; yours has been and will always be a thankless job and that I am
grateful. Please continue to keep that support going and stay involved in your
child’s lives. Trust me; they grow up
way to fast.
The memories that I take away from
the past 30 years are something money cannot buy. It has never been about the awards; but, the
music that we made.
Thank you all for making my time
here a bit easier because we worked together for the band. Please stay in touch and let me know how
things are going. My next journey is about to begin.
Thank you!
